It revives Ron Paul’s 1974 run for Congress.
What This Design References
Before his presidential runs made him a libertarian icon, Ron Paul was an obstetrician and former Air Force flight surgeon in Texas. In 1974 he ran for the U.S. House in Texas’s 22nd District as a Republican and lost to Democrat Bob Casey. After Casey resigned, Paul won an April 1976 special election, lost the seat that November by a few hundred votes, and won it back in 1978. He later returned to Congress from 1997 to 2013 and ran for president in 1988, 2008 and 2012. This black-and-white oval is styled after that first 1974 campaign and printed on a hoodie.
