The legend took off in 1987, when Traverse City radio DJ Steve Cook wrote “The Legend” as an April Fools’ song for WTCM, and listeners started calling in with sightings of their own. Reports have spread far beyond Michigan since, though no physical evidence has been confirmed. The quote on this design riffs on Schrödinger’s cat: until somebody looks, the Dogman is in a superposition of tearing you apart and not existing at all. Which is exactly why he’s covering his eyes.
